I am the eagle, I live in high country In rocky cathedrals that reach to the sky I am the hawk and there’s blood on my feathers But time is still turning they soon will be dry And all of those who see me, all who believe in me Share in the freedom I feel when I fly
Come dance with the west wind and touch on the mountain tops Sail o’er the canyons and up to the stars And reach for the heavens and hope for the future And all that we can be and not what we are
Emily/Randombility knocked this one out of the park!
We all have eyes but it is that we are collectively refusing to see what the eagle represents. Instead of having clear eyes, we have a glaze that prevents clear vision... and with out clear vision what can the heart be full of?
Great shot! My husband has photographed bald eagles before, but not in flight. It's OK if the head is blurry -- eagles can still see a pin head a football field's length away!
Such beautiful birds. I always find it hard to believe that they are such preditors cause they just look peaceful... well except in the eyes sometimes. I watched babies be hatched in the Spring & gained a whole new view on them!

I love the photo. Eagles remind me of this:
I am the eagle, I live in high country
In rocky cathedrals that reach to the sky
I am the hawk and there’s blood on my feathers
But time is still turning they soon will be dry

And reach for the heavens and hope for the future
And all that we can be and not what we are
Eagles are such majestic birds, and are pure magic to watch soar.

Great photo, Lou. It just wouldn't have been the same had they picked the turkey as the national bird, would it?
