10 Honest Things

Joyce-Anne of Jibber Jabber wanted to give me an award called the Honest Scrap. She has been coming here long enough to know how I feel about awards now, so she gave me an out. On the other hand, I am going to give her what she wanted - 10 Honest things about me. The original instructions are reprinted next.

The rules for the Honest Scrap award: The honorees are to: A) first list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep! B) pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.

So I'll give A) and B), well B) would mean passing the award along, so B ain't me.

1. I am hopelessly afraid of being marginalized by age.

2. It's not a question - but of when.

3. I have been a Type II Diabetic for 13 years. My numbers are good when I go to the Doctor, but I should weigh 30 lbs. less than I do. At least 30. There have been no apparent physical changes in my body that would be attributable to my Diabetes.

4. Annie likes my hair really short - and it's been short or shaved off for so long that I am almost afraid to let it grow out.

5. I drink my coffee black. And I drink far too much every day.

6. I am an Adult ADD with mild OCD tendencies. At one time, I used to take Ritalin.

7. In the year between the time my ex-wife and I broke up and meeting Annie, I dated 12 different women.

8. I go to sleep around midnight every night and I wake at 4:30 in the morning. Most of the time. Sometimes I hit the snooze button a couple of times. Or more.

9. I have a stent in my heart. I sometimes feel things that feel like what sent me to the hospital - and I get paranoid. My Doctor says my last stress test was perfect.

10. Annie's nickname for me is 'Bub'. I call her 'Booger'. It's affectionate. Really. Her nickname as a child was Fannie Mae. She signs her emails 'fm'. I sign my emails to her 'L,B' - which stands for 'Love, Bub'.

Ten honest things. I hope they are satisfactory. There's more. Lots more. Maybe, someday.

Twelve women over a period of a year? For a lady's man like you?

I like these kinds of memes, you get to learn more about a person. Like you, I am usually up past midnight, usually 2:00 - 3:00, but I don't get up until 6:00, after about three or four slaps of the snooze, it's 6:30, 6:45.

You make sure you take care of that heart, and blood sugar. Cheers

Oh coffee. How you keep the ADD at bay. Or feed it. Or make sweet...

nevermind.

12 women, eh? Wow.

Christy said...

What is your OCD behavior? I bet blogging 365 didn't help that.....LOL

Food is so cheap in America that so many of us have a weight problem. Eating for so many is almost a sport. With all the foods and restaurants being pushed at us on the TV every minute of the day, it is a wonder not more of us have a weight problem. With my metabolism, all I have to do is walk by a table of food and I gain weight. I don't need to even pick anything up.

What I find amazing is you say you need to lose 30 pounds and yet you can get by on 4 1/2 hours of sleep! To me that is amazing. When I was working, I got by on 6 hrs., but I could have never survived on 4 or 5 hrs.

As for dating 12 women in one year, I think that is very reasonable. It breaks down to one a month. I have a friend who lives in Florida who in the month of June 1963 took out 29 different girls in 30 days. He took one out twice. Yes, he went out on a date every night that month. That is way too much for me to even handle mentally.

Have a warm and safe weekend.

I'm glad you did this one... lets us a little deeper into your comfort zone.

If you are ADD and OCD, it gives me hope that my son will be fine too.

My only question is....who are you going to tag with this? :-\

I don't know that I would want to do this one, because I would be so conscious of my family and friends reading it I think it wouldn't be very real...

I found it very interesting what you wrote about mixing your paint colors. I wish I could do that with fabric and wall paint and furniture. I have a very hard time getting my home to look the way I want, because I don't go for matching furniture suites. We have a couch and a chair that match (and obviously our dining room table and chairs match) but that's it. Everything else was purchased separately...

I have worked with fabric I dyed myself. I do colorways of six steps from one color to the other, so I may start with bright yellow and gradually add more turquoise and take away the yellow dye until I have yellow, turquoise, and four shades of green that all work really well together. If only I could dye my whole world...

I'm terrible with passing along awards. Terrible.

I've gone to the ER with gas that felt an awful lot like some other Very Bad Thing that had happened in the past.

12? All at once or one per month? ;)

An interesting 10. See when you give an honest 10 they seem intersting, my honest ten would probably be boring. I'm not ADD, but I do have OCT tendencies.

Be well.

Myst_72: I don't know why you're GLAD - but yes, we do have that in common. I guess GLAD is appropriate, know that I think about it - Oh, look!! Something Shiney1!

Jientje: Well, yeah. Never have been a 'hit and run' kind of guy - it takes a while to establish the worth (or lack of worth) of the realtionship.

Eric S: I will and do take care of those things.

Nicole: Hair? What hair?

Zoeyjane: Caffeine and Nicotine are the two biggest tools for self-medicating ADD's. Yes, only 12. I took my time.

Christy: My OCD (currently) is books, buy, possessing, accumulating.

Calicobebop: Not one at a time - but like I said, I like to take my time. So only twelve.

Tash: See you Friday - I can't wait.

Moneythoughts: He was good. But like I said - I liked to take my time.

Rebecca: Thank you, Reba. I'm glad you think so.

Tara R: If you want to talk about your son - anytime.

Allison: I'm not - to tag I would have to pass it on - and I don't do that anymore.

Julie: If you could, I bet it would be marvelous.

Maggie's Mind: 2 or 3 at a time, sometimes. When I met Annie, I was dating 4 different women.

Patsy: No, Patsy. No one's 10 - honest 10 - would be boring.

I'm proud to say I knew much of your list, so I guess I was paying attention during Blog 365...

Thanks for sharing. :)

4.5 hours of sleep! That's what I've been getting since Mr Hyphen's new schedule took affect. I gotta say it's half of what I need. Mama needs MORE. How great though that you don't need more and have those extra hours in the day to go other things.

I am also type II diabetic. I am in good control of my blood sugar with just metformin and diet. I am also overweight but can't seem to get the pounds off.

I wore my hair very short for 26 years, but am in growing it out long now. Just because.
