Seven Random Things Meme

I have been tagged by Julie at "Causes Rats in Lab Cancer".

THE RULES:
1. Once you are tagged, link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Post THE RULES on your blog.
3. Post 7 weird or random facts about yourself on your blog.
4. Tag 7 people and link to them.
5. Comment on their blog to let them know they have been tagged.

And so the meme .....

1. At one time or another I have been in all 48 contiguous States and Hawaii.

2. I have an estranged son and daughter from a previous marriage.

3. I was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, 6 days after the official surrender of Japan.

4. From the time I was very young, all who knew me thought me destined for Hollywood.

5. I am a published poet.

6. I have been a Type II Diabetic for the last 12 years. Annie says that it hasn't slowed me down any. She says I'm still a horny bastard.

7. On June 25th of this year, the only woman in the world nuts enough to truly love me, and I, will have been married for 31 years. I would love 31 more.

I'm not going to tag anyone right now. But I will. Ask Annie. I know how to do what I'm told. Especially by women.

Allison: I'm sure you will.

Siobhan: Now I would LOVE to hear you doing Arte Johnson's accent - what with your brogue and all.

Casdok: Yeah - we could bring back 'Cannon' and I could play William Conrad's part- except I would need more hair.

grandview: You could do Yellowstone and Montana all in one fell swoop. Worth the trip.

Wow. Let's see...

#1 you have me beat by a mile...I am missing all of New England, and Alabama and Mississippi and various other southern states and one of the Carolinas and New York and Pennsylvania. I have been in all the states on the drive from Virginia to Washington state (via Minnesota), Tucson to Minnesota, Tucson to Washington state, Minnesota to LA, Florida to Wisconsin, Minnesota to one of the Carolinas...and about eight more long distance trips. I am no longer a fan of long distance road trips, especially when they involve the Great Plains.

Sounds like you have had a very full and varied life. Woot on the 31 years. That's terrific.

Great and interesting random facts!

31 years! That is something to be proud of, and for me to aspire for ;) I loved reading this about you!

Julie: You're missing some good stuff. New England is lovely, Pennsylvania is ruggedly beautiful -so much so you'll wonder why the pioneers didn't just stop right there - and upstate New York is as comfortable as an old shoe.

Elizabeth: Thank you. Five held high in gratitude.

Sandy: Yes, Hollywood, once upon a time ... but life took me in other directions.

Hi Lou,

I agree with what you wrote. During the Carter administration the Secretary of the Treasurer wa a PhD. by the name of Michael Blumenthal. Carter's people didn't keep him in the loop and his staff figured he was important, so he resigned. He wrote an article for Fortune magazine about the point you made about bureacrats. In the article, he explained that he could only appoint about 5 or 6 people, and all the rest were civil servants. That said, I still feel some changes could be made with some new blood in Washington.

I found the 7 things about you most interesting.

Interesting 7 things. I used to travel with hubby on the 18-wheeler. I know we haven't been NE of Pennsylvania. (Hubby refused to take a big rig into that area.) I'm not sure whether we crossed into NY at any time. Other than that I think we hit the rest of the 48 at least once. We also crossed into Canada (Alberta) to deliver in Calgary and Edmonton. When visiting his dad, who had a Mexican wife, we went to Mexico for lunch, too. Oh, and we never made it to Florida - just didn't have a load heading that way. The stories I could tell you about truck stops and rest areas...
