Monday Meanders

How is it that I thought I'd given up on the CUBS and yet I still find myself writing about current exploits on Monday?  Anyway, they're 3 and 4 on the current road trip with 3 games more to play before they come home.  All they need to do is win 2 out of 3 from the Marlins and they'll have had a .500 road trip.  They're slowly rounding into shape - the Starting Pitching is very good, and the Bullpen has evolved into a fairly effective one.  Now we need a reliable offense and we'll have it made.  Rizzo, Valbuena and Castro have done well, but Olt, Ruggiano and Schierholtz are struggling and Lake shows signs, from time to time, of being the kind of hitter everyone thinks he should be.  But just signs.  Dear CUBS.  When the trade deadline comes, don't sell the pitching, buy instead.  Some BATS.

Today, I'm driving to Omaha (or Lincoln) and from there, tomorrow, to Loveland, CO.  I'm probably going to be incommunicado for the rest of the week.

Probably.

We'll see.

The Game of Thrones season ender last night was outstanding.  The only bad thing about it is - it was the season ending episode.

The house is a mess.  Getting my son and his wife ready to move to Colorado has been as hard on my house as it's been on his.  Things are being left with me for "storage" - but they will be "stored" and out of hte way.  In the basement.  And now I need a new coffee table and end tables.  They're taking a bit of "home" with them - and I need to replace what they're taking.

Ndinombethe.  Ubuntu.

... I used to LOVE road trips..! I could sit at the wheel for hours and let the road unspool beneath the wheels of my car... hope you got everything accomplished..! And as pretty as Colorado is, I think you may have found your retirement home..!
