Monday Meanders

Cubs are playing pretty good baseball, lately.  The bullpen has been much, much better than they were earlier in the year.  Of course, the 'pen gave it up last night.

Soriano is on a tear, lately.  Not last night, though.

Much of the last week has been the kind of midwest summer weather that you can write home to momma about.  Just beautiful.

I saw The Heat on Saturday night.  Good movie.  Very funny.  However, if the "F" word hurts your ears (it doesn't hurt mine) you're gonna hear a lot of it in this movie.  FYI.

The scene in which Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock get drunk is one of the funniest I've seen in a long time.   Worth the price of admission all by itself.

A 19 year old kid named Jordan Spieth won the John Deere Classic played in Silvis, Illinois over the weekend.  He becomes, then, a member of the PGA Tour (because he won), the Fedex Cup points he earned in tournaments he played in, this season, before he won, yesterday, are retroactively applied to his total, vaulting him to 11th place from ZERO.  He also qualifies for The Open, to be played next week in England, and next year's Masters.  And he won't be 20 years old for two weeks yet.

Boy, I wish I could play golf like that.

Ndinombethe.

That is an amazing story, talking about the young golfer... apparently he was more than holding his own on the Nationwide... it will be interesting to see what he does in the big leagues...
