100 Word Challenge - Drowsy

What follows is offered in response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. The challenge, this week, is "Drowsy".

100 Word Challenge

The Hammock

The sound of children playing drifted to him like distant echoes as he swung slowly, half asleep, in his hammock.  The dappling shadows of the leaves on the tree flitted across his face as the gentle breeze played through the branches high above.  He lay there, drowsy with the motion, the heat and the sounds - sounds which took him back to another place and time, when the sounds of childhood were freshly remembered, and laying drowsy, in the sun, was his favorite thing to do.  He felt as if he floated, weightless, on a cloud of memory, then drifted away.

You so captured the essence of the word.

Very nice. I wish I lived in a situation where I thought I could lie out on a hammock or lounge chair. Alas, I live in the land of no peace.

Hammocks are the most hypnotic contraptions.
