Freecycle

I had heard about Freecycle - I'd seen it mentioned here and there.  It's kind of like Craigslist only better.  The stuff is free.

And you can give stuff away that you no longer want.

Yesterday morning I listed some stuff on Freecycle - our LOCAL Freecycle.  Because the rules say you have to use your local group before you crosslist at a more distant group.

It was a set of surround sound speakers, including subwoofer.

The listing went up and TWO MINUTES later I had a taker.   And then another one.  And in 5 minutes I had a dozen.

I went with the first one.  Because she was first and that's the right thing to do.

She came and picked up the speakers the same day.

No seat, no strain, no problem.  I like that.

Freecycle forever!!!

We have used Freecycle a bunch of times for things I really thought no one would ever want.Same thing: lots of responses, gone in 60 seconds (or so it seemed!). Great way to keep something of worth in play.

There is a freecycle group near me. I've never used it, but there is a lot of stuff I know I couldn't sell, but someone would benefit from it. I may need to check it out.

That sounds great! It's a pretty good idea, and what's better than having or giving things for free. That word makes happy the entire world, hahaha.

I LOVE freecycle a lot too. I've gotten rid of so much stuff and so much more to go.

though they get pissy with you if you state "taken pending pick up" or "Please take it all". At least our group gets pissy with that.
