Look what I found!!!

Over the years the family room has accumulated a number of bins and containers, and once things have made it to a bin, the tendency has been to forget they are there: proof that out of sight is out of mind.  But now ... they're back.

Books that I meant to read and somehow I never got around to.

Computer stuff I meant to put to use (like Snappy!! - a video capture device).

Art supplies I'd "put aside for later".  Well ... it's later.

There is so much reading to do - both for business and pleasure; so many things I need to be doing - using those Art supplies, finishing my books, working on bikes - and the list goes on.

This last weekend brought all that to the forefront of my mind.  In order to get more of the things done I want to get done, there is one and only one viable solution - I'm swearing off TV.

The time spent watching the mindless pap of television will now become doing useful and creative stuff.  That's the kind of stuff that makes me happy.

And one thing, yesterday, made me sad.

Michael Clark Duncan died yesterday.  We are diminished with the passing of that gentle giant.

Isn't it just wonderful to find stuff you totally forgot about? That's what I like about decluttering from time to time.
Michael Clark Duncan tied too young, he was only 54. I'm the same age now, can't imagine my life being over that soon. But I guess it is always too soon, isn't it? So much one wants to do!

I liked what Jjente said about Michael Clarke-Duncan... fitting for her and for me as well...

I understand what you are describing and why the cable is going to go back this weekend... the game that I got it for I ended up not watching (which was a good thing for more than one reason) and as you already stated, the things that more than likely will add to your life has begin to stack up.

I think you would enjoy doing and reading through all the things you have put on the back burner rather than watching the telly. While I am glad that I can watch the Democratic Convention in peace, that is all I will need it for... if for that... NPR coverage is good enough for me..!
