"... I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date, ..." Me and the Hatter both.
First, Luscious died. Well, she didn't actually die so much as she froze up and wouldn't reboot. It turns out her Video Subsystem was defective and needed to be replaced. Actually, because the NVidia chipset is on the motherboard in MacBook Pro's, the whole logic board needed to be replaced. It was done over the weekend - I will get her back today. The work was performed at the Apple Store and paid for by NVidia - it seems there have been a lot of MacBook Pro's that have had a similar failure.
Spending a weekend without Luscious was painful - but then .....
Yesterday morning I awoke to the sound of thunder. And rain on the roof. And the cable went out. And with it? Internet access. It was out - still out - when I went to bed last night.
Which is why this is late.
I will get Luscious back today. The cable had been restored to service sometime during the night. So all will be well by the time the evening rolls around and it's time to settle in.

...wow... one of those secret warranty manufacturers have to salvage their reps... at least it gets Luscious back to speed.
Luscious... is she a Jane Mansfield or Betty Grable-type..?
When I first read this I freaked out wondering who died...then I remembered and was a bit happier. Still sorry for you though!
