The 1st day of the next 34 years

On the other hand, if I make another 34 years, I wonder what the heck things will be like. Perhaps, by then, the rejuvenatory capabilities of the human body will be enhanced to the point that I'll look, act, and feel like a 65 year old man. Which would be novel, given that I don't look, act, or feel like one now. When I AM 65.

I wonder, sometimes, what it would be like to be that old. I wonder, sometimes, if I WANT to be that old, ever. I've seen old people. I don't think I want to be an old person like the ones I've seen.

If I could keep my mind - if I could write, and paint, and take photographs - if I could be somewhat more capable than drooling all over myself and peeing in a bag, I might be willing to go that far.

Of course, if I had a hot nurse it could help.

I could see you as a cantankerous centenarian, giving the med staff something to worry about. 'Helloooo! Nurse!"

I've wondered those same things. I can't imagine being as "old" as my mother was in terms of debilitation and frailty. Keep moving - I think that's the way to stave it off.

Yeah, huh? I've seen old people (which is light years away, ya know?) who are sharp as a tack and still able to enjoy life. But I've also seen those for whom "life" is something they left behind years ago, even though they are still breathing. If I could have the former, that'd be great, but I wouldn't want to burden my children with the latter.

My Dad is about to be 95, goes dancing twice a week with his lady love and reads 2 newsmagazines a week. I'm aiming at that model of aging. Age the way you want.

I am with Nana here... all you can do is aim for what you want. Everything else is up to fate but fate seems to hang more on what choice we make...

...finally, nothing is a better predictor of the future than the past... if it has been going this well so far, you definitely have what it takes to age the way you choose..!
