Monday Meanders 7-19

The Cubs have won 3 out of 4 since the All Star break. Dare one hope? Winning 3 out of 4 for the rest of the year will not only take them to the World Series - they'll win it.

Things have been a bit busy around our suburban little piece of paradise. The converted dining room is in the midst of being painted and the 'unpackratting' (brand new word invented here) proceeds apace.

We filled a 20 cubic yard dumpster - which has gone off to dumpster heaven now, never to return.

We discovered that the wiring done in the basement when we had it finished (years ago) was REALLY shoddy and #2 Son came to the rescue and rewired the basement so we can feel safe now. I'm so proud of him - he does good work.

I never got to the point where I could publish 'Sarah' yesterday - so I think I'll do a 'Three fer' this weekend. 'Sarah' will run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (Any volunteers for any other kind of 'Three fer' will kindly send messages via email.)

Grannie has surgery tomorrow. I have seen the MRI's and there really isn't a lot of choice. Keep your fingers crossed.

Ndinombethe.

Lou, we love Sarah but we love you more. Don't think we're expecting you to get moving on Sarah any sooner than you have time for. I'd say you're allowed to tend to more pressing matters right now!

Got fingers and toes crossed for Granny.
Excellent work from #2 son, could have used him last month when we had the house re-wired...though the airfare may not have come under 'labor' :P

Fingers crossed for Granny. She is also in our thoughts and prayers, I hope everything comes out well.

I'll be saying a prayer and crossing my fingers that Granny comes through OK.

This has been such a long haul for Grannie, for all of you really. I hope this surgery takes care of the problem and that she can get down to the business of recovering. Love and hugs to all of you.

We need to do some unpackratting around here too. I just hate throwing stuff out. Clearly you can guess who the primary culprit is.

Best wishes for granny's surgery!
