Skies and water and old buildings. Three of my most favorite things to photograph.

Could be a way to desentitize a culture to the inhumanity of imprisonment. Instead of compassion, belief that there should be no rehabilitative services in prison takes an early hold. Just sayin'...

An amazing image. The grey skies and the way the light is striking the prison is a stunning combination.

Been there, done that, never got the Tee Shirt. But I did get a hot Irish Coffee at the Buena Vista directly across the "Rock" in the Marina, and I have that Tee Shirt.

While I've seen Alcatraz from a distance I've never been on the island. Nice shot.

Early Native Americans knew it as a place of evil spirits. Yeah, huh?

It would be interesting (for about a day... and no longer!) to be a seer and go sit out there.

I've only seen it from afar. Much like in this picture. However, believe it or not, but I had a relative who spent time there...
