Monday Meanders 3-8

I'm planning to attend a watercolor workshop taught by Rusty Harden in Tipp City, Ohio on April 10th and 11th. As much as I am a beginner as an Artist, I am a total neophyte when it comes to watercolor. She promises to handle beginners with 'kid gloves'. *smirk*

Over the weekend, I bought some materials regarding watercolor - technique, etc. I figure it can't do any harm to be conversant with the materials and how they might be used. I really don't want to seem a total nudge.

It was good to take a weekend and just veg out. The weather Saturday was nice (sunny and on the upper 40's) and the weather yesterday was wet - which was the perfect excuse to not do much of anything. Feels good.

Sarah took the weekend off - part of that vegging out process - and during the weekend LM (Love Muffin - The person once known as SWMBO) began a rather persistent campaign to get me to begin the process of trying to find a publisher for Sarah. I have not the foggiest idea how to start - but I guess I'd better - if only to keep peace in the family.

The weather around here promises to be in the 50's all week. This is what I have been waiting for. However - the finer weather also means that exterior projects come to the fore - so I will be working hard to get all that stuff done as quickly as possible so I can enjoy the coming weekends of good weather and open golf courses.

Fore!!

Ndinombethe.

Spring is coming, and I'm counting the days, just like you are. But it's been snowing here all morning. And this time we're getting more than five snowflakes!

Ah watercolour as the Brits would say. My father took up watercolor when he decided to return to painting in the 1950s. The first thing I learned was that tradition watercolor painters do not use white. The paper is the white which means the artist must think ahead. The other thing is: you don't have to cover the paper from edge to edge with paint. Take a look at Winslow Homer's watercolors, I think he is great. I know you will have fun and make new friends, but where is Pitt City?

You could never be a total nudge... you are a wonderful artist, watercolors will be fun for you. I look forward to seeing your homework from the workshop.

Fingers crossed for you that the weather warms up enough for a little golf.

Saturday was beautiful "down south" too. We managed to get the kids outside.

Spring is getting closer. I can tell. The gas stations have mulch out.

Do you have Sarah in a word doc? Any chance you'd email it to me so I can print and read in its entirety?

I have an author friend, who happens to be published. Prior to sending out her manuscript, she sent out letters of inquiry to publishers to see if anyone would be interested in reading her story. Meanwhile, you should definitely obtain a copyright for "Sarah"--I'm not 100% sure how to get that done. I think my friend printed it and mailed it to her parents and they never opened the package. But, the details are fuzzy. Good luck.

And are you not LOVING the weather? I am SO glad that spring seems to be on its way!

Walk into your local library and ask the Librarian to lead you to the newest Writer's Market. Answer any questions she asks as truthfully as possible.

I'll go back to urking now.

How fun! I can't wait to hear about the workshop. I'm sure you'll learn a lot.

I was reading Sarah at work over the last couple of weeks but then I got busier and had to stop. I'm looking forward to getting back into it. My boss is away for the next couple of days, so maybe I can finally get caught up!
