Okay. Just to remind you whom it was that was being entertained, she is pictured below ... (can you tell Jientje is happy?)
And the picture below is in honor of her love of flags. The Wrigley Building flies this flag every day. Most people don't even see it.
This next picture is was surprise to me. Did I mention earlier in the week that sometimes I'm a tourist in my own town? Honest to Judy Canova, I had NO IDEA this GIANT statue of 'American Gothic' even existed - much less that it has been installed on Michigan Avenue. That said, ain't it cool?
(I wonder how many people I just made Google 'Judy Canova')
Okay - one more picture of Jientje. At this point, she has become bored with taking shots of American Gothic and is hunting live victims.
And now - just because it's there - here's another shot where the object being photographed is actually being lit by reflected sunlight off a glass facade - in this case, the glass belongs to the self same Sheraton Hotel that hosted BlogHer. In addition, then, we have a reflection of the boat in the water, to go along with the reflected light off the building.
All of these images are SOOC (Straight out of Camera), and as such, have not been cropped, sharpened or enhanced in any way. But you could tell, right?
Pray for Anissa.

"Spam, spam, spam!" (Monty Python)
Just noticed your anti-spam statement. I wonder why people leave spam comments? Weird. ANYWAY, I was going to say GREAT PICTURES unedited.
Oh my goodness! It seems like you had such a wonderful time! : ) I adore the pictures. I have to google that Judy Canova! Thank you. Because I really needed ONE MORE THING to do this morning Lou : ) : )
I am IN LOVE with that Michigan Ave statue and took TONS of pics of it at BlogHer! It was my most FAVORITE object, and Tara & Mishi & I spent at least 30 minutes in that little pavilion while they hunted people, objects, and the perfect lighting. I love the hustle and bustle of that area for photography! I hope there are more pictures! :) It looks like you two had SO MUCH FUN!
xo
I hardly know anything about Chicago (to my shame), but I DID know about the statue. Why? I have no idea. Blame my varied and voracious reading habits. I love the picture, though.
Am I correct in thinking you have new very tall building, though? I want to say the tallest designed by a female architect? And looks like water? Or am I chasing the wrong rabbit, here?
Thanks for sharing the great pictures. We have one Grant Woods piece in the Cincinnati Art Museum titled "Daughters of the American Revolution". It is classic Grant Woods, check it out some time.
Great pics, even SOOC! That clock on the Wrigley Building came in handy last Sunday morning when I was in Chicago. I didn't know what time it was when I woke up. I looked out the window and had a perfect view of the clock!
Great pics! Sounds like a good time was had by all!
I never saw that statue while at BlogHer! Very cool.
It looks so chilly over there! Not that it isn't chilly here, too.
I'm so glad you had a chance to meet Jientje. I just know she's every bit as lovely in person as she is online.
Just a question- I have a submission for the 100 word challenge on "material". Where do I post it? Her blog or mine?
Yeah, we DID haqve fun, didn't we? Wish I could be there and do it all over agauin ....
Shadow: It's fun, seeing the city like a tourist does.
Nan: Thank you, Nan. I wonder, as well.
Life with Kaishon: Oh, you're welcome. And I knew you did.
Heather: More tomorrow. A and it was great fun.
Mrs F with 4: You're right, Beccy. The Aqua building, south of the loop, is the largest skyscraper ever architected by a woman.
Moneythoughts: I will do that, Fred.
Employee: Were you out on the ledge?
Calicobebop: A great time, yes.
Momisodes: That she is.
Grandmother: I commented on your post and left info for you.
Jientje: That would be fun.
Looks like great fun photo hunting around Chicago. Haven't been there in too long.
I so need to hop on my broomstick and come on over!
:)
