can do but worry over
sick children. The flu.
Nothing a parent
can feel but relief over
children made better.
Nothing a parent
can say to those children but
"I'm glad you're better."
Children cannot know
What parents go through until
They become parents.

P.s. #2 Son was ill with H1N1 recently. He's better now. But while he was down, I was reminded, again, how precious these gifts - these children - are. It doesn't diminish with time, either. In fact, the older one gets, the more one realizes that time has a limit and each minute, each hour, each day refines the essence of love for those to whom you have given life. All you young parents out there have your babies - they are so cute, and adorable, and you love them more than anything. What you don't know yet, is that the feeling never goes away. So, while you have your babies, I have my SONS.

No matter how old our children get, they are still our "babies". We will worry about them always. Glad #2 son is feeling better!
Glad he is feeling better. SO precious, life is. Seems everyone is sick. Schools are closing around here. Stay well.
And the helpless feeling you have the first time they are really, really sick and away at college (or where ever) and you can't get to them --- it never get any easier not matter how old they get. (Mine are older than yours) I love the last sentence "you have your babies, I have my SONS.[Daughters]
I cannot wait for it! I'm glad that your son is better!
and your sons are lucky to have you. Glad your son is feeling better!
So glad that he is doing better! And you are so right - children just won't get it until they are parents too. Have a great weekend!
No matter how old they get, they will always be your babies! If anything, with them being away from home, the worry is magnified. I'm glad your son is feeling better.
I'm glad #2 son is feeling better. This year, more than in years past, I'm worried about my children getting sick. Is it due to the press surrounding H1N1? Maybe. Meanwhile, I remind my older "babies" (ages 6 & 8) to wash their hands a lot and keep their fingers away from their face. Will it help? Possibly, but it certainly couldn't hurt.
Well said! There are so many emotions that I never expected upon becoming a parent. No concept of the depth of love we have for our children. They are so precious. At whatever age.

It reads like some of my recent writings have been rubbing off. "The older one gets" indeed. Hoping everyone is in good health.
I am so happy to know that feeling never goes away :)
Glad #2 is all recovered now
Amen!
Good that #2 is feeling better!
While my daughters husband was stationed in Iraq, whenever she got sick she would come home. In the end I would get sick soon afterwards. I never complained the mother in me was heartened to see her come home to be taken care of when she was sick.
You never get past the worry, nor stop looking after the child no matter how old. (Hugs)Indigo
So glad he's better, Lou. That shit is scary.
AMEN to that last verse.
Glad he's feeling better...it's starting to spread around here, too.
oh Lou,
On the day that my girl child turns into an adult, this is so perfect.
It is so true.
Glad your boy is better.
