100 Word Challenge - Place

What follows is in response to the '100 Word Challenge' authored by the cozy and safe Velvet Verbosity. The word today is "Place".

100 Word Challenge

"I'm sorry, Sir, we have no room. There isn't anywhere we could put him."

"PLEASE, Sister? Please? This here is an orphanage, ain't it? It ain't like he's a bad kid. It's just that I lost my job, an' the house, an' now we ain't got nowhere's to go. His Mama died when he was born an' it's just been me an' him an' now that we ain't got nowhere to live, why, I jus' cain't keep him. I cain't take care of 'im."

"I'm sorry, but ..."

"Jus' 'til I get a job? And a place. He needs a place."

Sounds like a story from the Great Depression, but it could be right now.

A place to stay and a place in someone's heart!
This moves me.
To think it's still possible today.

You take one word and turn it into this? You have quite an imagination. And you say you work with computers all day?

Did you ever see the movie "Cider House Rules"? It's about a boy at an orphanage. Good movie.

You have a beautiful heart Lou because only a person with a beautiful heart could write pieces like this one and last weeks rain piece. You will never cease to amaze me with your writing.

The part that kills me is that it could happen at any time to anybody... it's not something that "used to happen".

Great job.
