The Promised Ones

The pictures .. or at least, some of them. (For those of you with a Messianic bent, the next possible scheduled appearance of the 'Promised One' is 2012).

When I went to pick him up at the GF's house, there they were, in the front yard. There was a lot going on - her Dad was hauling stuff around in a wheelbarrow, GF was demonstrating a certain measure of 'attitude', and #3 Son was adjusting his wig.

In the next shot, she's actually walking her Klingon Death Knives into the house. I guess you can't see her knives - at all. Trust me. I'll show pictures as soon as I get them.

So, anyway, in a feeble attempt to upstage her knives, #3 Son decided that the BACK of his costume was a good view. I had to ask, though, if maybe the star was some sort of target ....

He was, allegedly, the best 'Simon' at the show, and the only 'Admiral Simon'. Apparently, this character has evolved over time and achieved some rank. Anyway, 'Simon' has some little critter that lives on his shoulder and GF was holding him up for the camera to see - only because #3 Son's shouders are too narrow to support the little beastie. I do like the pose, though. Such panache.

And I just thought maybe you should check out those shoes. I love those shoes. And I'm kinda fond of the kid that's in 'em.

That right there says more about you as a man than anything ever.

I especially love the shot of the shoes and the lines that follow it "I love those shoes. And I'm kinda fond of the kid that's in 'em." Spoken like a true parent who really loves his son.

I love teenagers! They have such abandonment and love for life as it is -- well at least when they aren't all depressed and pouty. Just remembered the mood swings of my daughters. (shudder)

Great pictures -- great fun.

And to comment on 09's post without having to comment twice. Hubby and I also were among those seeing Star Treck this past weekend. Loved it. Laughed and enjoyed the pure entertainment of it. I plan to take mom and dad when I see them next week. They have always been fans of the TV series watching reruns even today -- I think they will enjoy this movie.

My oldest daughter is all about this stuff- she dressed up as a character a few weeks ago. In drag, apparently. I think the suit was too loose a fit.

Makes my complaint about strips and plaids a little lame. Love the costume!

You love him.

You're a great father.

Wait. What? said...

Now that looks like fun - maybe that is a cure for what ails me?! As always love the photo - and thank you for checking in on me... your timing is always so good.

Cathy: He did have a great time.

Patsy: Thank you, Patsy.

Loraine: Does a girl 'in drag' dress up like a boy?

Tara R: Wasn't it great?

Jientje: Thank you, Jientje.

Cat: You are SO welcome, Cat.

Indigo: it was cool, wasn't it?

Rebecca: Vote? Yes? For?

I love the shoes, too! But goes to show how out-of-it I am... because I have seen NONE of this stuff.

These were SO worth the wait!

I have to say though. The blue wig really does complete the awesome outfit. What an amazing costume!

Looks like they had a great time. So glad he was such a hit at the show.
