Just so you know ...

Just so you know ... the recent photos from Ireland and the England trip were taken with a Sony point and shoot. A DSC-S70. A nice little camera. A very nice lens, but the weak spot is the sensor. The sensor causes Chromatic Aberration which, to you and me, is a purple fringe on dark objects next to a light or bright background. I hated that camera for that purple fringe. And it was only 3.3 Megapixels, which doesn't allow for much manipulation. Cropping, actually. Not much cropping.

Just so you know ... I plan to take copious pictures of #3 Son and The Girlfriend before they take off to cosplay (the Manga thing) in May. The costume is SO worth the effort. And I'm sure you're all looking forward to the blue hair. I know I am.

Just so you know ... On Friday, May 1st, I'm going to be guest posting for a dear friend. It's also #2 Son's birthday. I'm going to have to think of something special. For both of them.

Just so you know ... I took #3 Son to the Oral surgeon yesterday, for a consult. Monday next, he's to have all four wisdom teeth extracted. He's so happy - because he'll miss school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He was HOPING to get the work done on Monday. I told him to be careful of what he wishes for. He has no idea.

Just so you know ... I love you all.

So now we know: that you took great pictures with a limited camera, to look forward to the pictures of son and girlfriend, to watch for you to blog in two places and to wish #2 son happy birthday, and to chuckle because he so doesn't realize what he is in for on Monday.

Eep, hope he gets on ok! I'm saving for a digital camera (along with new laptop, Wii and wii fit) so expect it to be a long wait! Good to see some reccomendations though as I have no clue about such things past point/click!

I came by cos I saw your comment about Kim's torso post. I'm hoping to do a figure shoot next month, it's been a long time so wish me luck! I'll be sure to send you some shots. BG x

I can empathize on the wisdom teeth extractions. That's when I found out I don't 'tolerate' codeine well. Tylenol alone doesn't address that kind of 'discomfort' very well. I hope #2 son's surgery goes well and that he recovers quickly and comfortably.

Looking forward to the Manga photo shoot.

Yes, the photos were still great. You could have used a pin-hole camera and I would have liked them.

I'm with you on the wisdom teeth. He has no idea what he's in for. My daughter just had her's pulled a few months ago. Just a heads up...you might want to hide. Our kids happen to thing they are the only ones to ever have experienced the pain they go through. If it wasn't directed toward you, it would actually be sorta funny. Just so you know...(Hugs)Indigo

Hi Lceel,
I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was in pinderfields burns unit in 1990, I had them done in a skin graft op so I cant remember much about it, I guess it was eclipsed by the pain from the other stuff.
Does everyone use digital cameras now or is anyone left using old film I wonder, I love my camera.
Yes 40 so theres more stuff that happens after

Shuddering at the thought of the dentist and wisdom teeth....yuck.
But I'm looking forward to the costume pics!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted a few days before my 21st birthday. WHAT WAS I THINKING?? I looked like a chipmunk and chose not to go out on my birthday. Apparently the "wisdom" part hadn't taken hold yet.
The one good thing I did was cough up the $1000 bucks for them to put me completely under. 20 minutes, bada boom, bada bing... DONE. I don't remember at thing. I like it that way.

I hope he has good luck. No dry sockets, etc. YUCK.

You know, I can hardly wait ;)

I had no idea you used a Sony point and shoot. I had a very similar one as my last camera!

Good luck to son #3. I remember my own trip to the oral surgeon 7 years ago as if were yesterday.
I was drinking my meals for days!

Cha has dreadful teeth/jaw problems. I anticipate many unpleasant dental episodes for him. And he hates pain!

And... I noticed you have Google Ads there... How's that working for you?

I had my wisdom teeth pulled when I was about 23. They sent me home with a swollen jaw and a bottle of pills.

I was in my parent's basement taking the pills and suffering when my father came home, took me upstairs, and poured Bacardi in some hot water with some honey.

Over the next 24 hours, I wiped out my mother's bottle of Bacardi, slept continuously (except for getting up to boil water), and three years later I tossed the pills when I cleaned out my medicine cabinet.

It feels really nice on sore gums too.

Just so you know ... well... I think you know.

Can't wait to see the pictures.
But I pity your poor son. He clearly does not know. Not yet anyway.

Wait. What? said...

just so you know - I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out the same day - I was asleep however - so perhaps this would be a reasonable option for him? Otherwise I think OW!

Love your pictures - everytime I go to best buy I think of you and your camera and photos and want to buy a nice camera and make magic like you do!

I hate going to the dentist's.

Can't wait to see the pictures!!

I know exactly what you mean about the purple fringe. Drove me crazy with my old P&S, so I lug around my DSLR.

All I can say about the wisdom teeth is I had valium before my crown lengthening/wisdom tooth extraction last summer, tons of novocaine, and I didn't feel a thing. I was "awake" and had no idea when the tooth was pulled out.

Needed vicodin every four hours after the numbness wore off for a couple days, though. Four at once? Holy moly! Make sure you get him the vicodin or better. Poor kid has no idea!!!!

I loved those shots of Ireland. I don't think it mattered what camera you used, they were great anyway.

Meanwhile, while missing school may be fun, I hope #3 son has a high tolerance for pain. It's not going to be fun.

Myst_72: Thank you, Gina. I'll make sure they're good ones.

Patsy: Yup. You now know all.

BenefitScroungingScum: Fuji's little point and shoot J10 is a very nice camera. And I look forward to the figures.

Tara R: Actually, it's number three son. That's what I get for creating aliases for my boys.

Moneythoughts: Thank you, Fred. That's nice of you to say.

Indigo: It's not going to be pleasant - for him OR us.

Shadow: Thank you, Shadow.

Michael: Digital is the new film, Michael. Put your film camera in a baggie and store it.

Nicole: They will be fun.

Hyphen Mama: He will sleep. and, hopefully, no dry sockets.

Momisodes: And he will be drinking his, as well.

Nan: I feel sorry for Chas - and the Google ad does nothing more than help me track statisitcs.

Ingot: I guess I'd better hide my good Rum.

Jientje: He will, though. Poor kid.

Cat: Thank you, Cat. I'm so glad you like my pictures.

Loraine: I hate Dentists, as well.

Lola: I know he doesn't. He's got One. Big. Life. Lesson coming.

Joyce-Anne: I'm glad you like my Ireland shots.

I am both terrified and excited to get all of my wisdom teeth out. One day. Good luck and wet sockets to the boy!
