Saturday morning we checked out of the hotel, checked our luggage into the office, where they would hold it until Sunday, and Tash, Paul and Stinker came and got us and took us to the marina where we loaded Pauls boat up with the goodies necessary to get us through a weekend 'down de islands'. Below is Paul, in his boat, getting things ready just before the boat is set into the water. Over the next few days, I promise, there will be clearer pictures of everyone.
In the photo below, we were underway, with Nan in the left foreground, Tash beyond her, Stinker and Chas in the bows (Tash's son and Nan's oldest son), My son Louie in the seat beyond the windscreen (hard to see) in front of Paul, who's driving the boat.
Below is Nan with her youngest, Max, occupying the best seat in the house. I mean, when you're that age, there is no better spot to be than on Mom's lap.
In the shot below we find #1 Son looking cool as we fly - and I do mean fly - across the water.
And just in case you wanted to see - below is a shot across the transom visualizing the wake. Like I said - we wuz flyin'.
And all of that hurry up was because we were headed to the exotic piece of real estate pictured below. We would sleep the night on the second floor of that lovely building.
This weekend we spent here, in this place, was as peaceful and fun-filled as any I have have had in years. The people we met - Sean (Nan's husband), Patrice, whose picture you will see Thursday, Tash's folks and her uncle and aunt and others who all made us feel perfectly at home. What an amazing weekend. More to come.
Ndinombethe.

Sun, water, a fast boat, and VERY GOOD COMPANY, who could ask for more huh?
don't know what to say, the open waters, the boat, tranquility personified!

Thanks for providing a voyeuristic look at your trip!
It looks wonderful, Lou!
Keep em coming Lou!
Great picture story... more? Palm trees perhaps?
I know I've been quiet in comments, I am reading. I'm enjoying the storyteller reliving his vacation for me *winks*. It all sounds peaceful, serene...an escapade. (Hugs)Indigo
Stunning! There's a place you can relax...
It all looks so wonderful.
Looks like great times. Can we expect to see any pictures of the man behind the camera?
Beautiful. I miss the sea. Any sea! I miss smelling the salt air every day. Looks like you had a fantastic time.
Beautiful, can't wait to see more.
DDI had the same impact on hubby the first time I took him down. It really is a perfect place to be.
I love these pics. I'm thinking Tash and Nan are going to be the most popular bloggy girls after this tour! We'll ALL be knocking on their doors for a weekend away.
What a wonderful weekend with friends, no matter HOW you came to know them.
Gorgeous and wonderful...it's sunny here, but only about one degree above zero, so I am vicariously enjoying the sunshine and warmth in your photos.
I agree completely with you on travel. It changes the way you think, it forces you to realize that no matter how foreign, humans are also a whole lot alike.
Great travelogue so far, Lou!
Wow! It's nice to have friends in warm places! Especially friends with a boat. ;)

How fun - how dreamy the pictures of the water and the house - oh I need to get away to a tropical paradise!
Oh my gosh what a beautiful place to just be and soak up the beauty. That place looks amazing.
Jientje: Certainly not me.
Shadow: Tranquil - good word for the experience.
Witchypoo: Oh, you're welcome, fellow voyeur.
Bama Cheryl: It was wonderful, Bama.
Tash: I will. I have plenty.
Loraine: More palm trees coming - if not tomorrow, then Friday.
Indigo: I wish everybody could have been along.
Suzanne: Yup. Relax. Have fun. Drink rum.
Tara R: It is precisely that - wonderful.
Employee: Yeah - I discovered I don't photograph very well, but there will be a couple soon.
Abritdifferent: I love the smell of the sea in the morning.
Jibber Jabber: More tomorrow.
Theresa: Just that - perfect.
Hyphen Mama: Unfortunately for Trinidad, Nan is moving to England soon.
Julie: Thank you, Julie. I am so glad you, in Alaska, can enjoy what I, from Illinois, did in Trinidad.
HollyATOM: Yes, a boat and a great place to stay - right on the water.
Cat: Everybody should do so - at least once.
Maggie's Mind: It is just that, too - amazing.
Lou, it looks wonderful, fun, and so peaceful. Obviously you had a good vacation. I bet it was real fun meeting all the folks in person.
Eric S: Meeting Tash and Nan and Haley in person, plus Sharon, who is Islandgirl, was the real purpose to the trip - and the best thing that Louie and I did together.
Short sleeve shirts and bathing suits!
Oh, that looks so lovely. What a perfect getaway.
Can't wait to see more.
*insert deep sigh*
This looks like a gorgeous trip, sigh!
