Bedtime Stories

As some of you know, I give SWMBO a back rub almost every single night. It helps her go to sleep - and it helps relieve the tensions that build in her back over dealing with the constant pain of EDS (Ehlers Danloss Syndrome). I often do feet and hands, as well. Oh. And she likes it when I 'rub her hair'. ON HER HEAD!! She loves it when I run my fingers through her hair - she finds it very relaxing.

As I do this, I often read to her. She likes the sound of my voice. She says she finds it soothing. I kinda think that's neat, but don't tell her, 'K?

Anyway, last night I read her the 8 parts of 'One Knight's Story'. She actually stayed awake and listened - and liked it. I kinda think that's neat, too.

I will, however, test her recollections in the morning (this is being written after she's fallen asleep, but before midnight on Friday). Because I'm never really sure whether she's awake or not.

On Wednesday of this coming week, our youngest son will be 18. And this Fall, he starts college. Where has the time gone? Where ....

I could do with a bedtime ritual like that any day!! You spoil her, but that's only because she deserves it.
And yes ... time flies, my daughter will be thirty one in September. I have no idea how that happened?
Have a great Saturday Lou!

Time flies, that's for sure!
And I'm glad you do all this for your wife.
You are both great people!

Time... it flies. Where did February go, even? Sean reads to me, sometimes, and I read to him. I'm always the first to fall asleep but I love it. And that reminds me, he owes me a massage... Payback time! I bet Annie misses you when you travel.

Lou you certainly spoil Annie, I'm sure she is deserving. I don't think I'll let Blinda read this one though, LOL. She might get a few ideas.

The older we get the faster time flies.

Im here, try and save my blogging for the weekend and well lately after a full day on the computer at work then hospital then taking dogs out I get just few hours on an evening, but well theres my excuses.
It all feels really hard some days at the moment, I was watching those lions on the serengetti on TV and I just longed to live with nature away from this modern world, do u know the feeling?
well its another pizza saturday, visited my gangster mate last night hes back at his mums after an eventful few weeks.
So tonight I can do what I want, just waiting for the pizza man as I write this.
Where does time go, I am nearly 40 and i wish our cat would shut up yowling

My baby turns 16 in a couple months, and my oldest finally outgrows her teens this fall.

You're a good guy to be so sweet to SWMBO.

I think its kinda neat too. You still get those butterflies and feel the age you were when you first met don't you? As you and she relax the years melt away and life is good.

Then reality hit and your son is turning 18 -- or for me 40. YIKES!

Jientje: I have had a great Saturday - and time does fly, doesn't it?

Nicole: Thank you, Nicole, you're sweet.

Maggie's Mind: But it's always HER. I don't get massages.

Shadow: Thank you, Shadow.

Nan: Yes, she does - and makes me pay, believe me.

Indigo: Just the two of us, huh? Hmmm ... maybe we can adopt.

Eric S: 'Flies' is right - and properly spelled, too.

Michael: 40? Man .. I'd LOVE to be 40.

Tara R: Thank you, Tara. most of hte time, she's easy to be nice to.

Patsy: Butterflies? Yeah, I guess that's one word for it.

Gee, I'm lamenting the fact my oldest is going to be 8 years old this year! 10 years from now--18!can't.think.about.it.yet.

I hope SWMBO passes your test and remembers the details of the story. If she does, you may owe her two back rubs...

I'm in an emotional upheaval because Wynnie starts Kindergarten this fall. College will most certainly push me right over the edge of crazy.

I wish Mr Hyphen would "rub" me to sleep. Instead, when I can't sleep I say "tell me about jet engines" and the drone of his voice talking about "First there's the intake and it is then compressed....." I'm out like a light. It works.

Oh, a scalp massage is pure heaven. There's something so relaxing about having fingers run through your hair as well :) You guys are just so sweet. Sounds like a lovely bedtime ritual.

College? Already!?

The scalp has a lot more nerve endings (why? No idea), so it's always a good place to massage if you want to relax someone.

Wow, off to college soon. So, you and SWMBO will have an empty nest come September?

(and I really, really hope you're coming to BlogHer or will meet up with people the night before.
