As in 'addicted' - but not in a bad way. The 365 was over 5 days ago. I still have not 'not blogged'. Is that bad? Can that be bad? I know it takes so much time from other things, but I don't think I can stop and frankly, I don't want to stop.
So I won't. Not for a while, anyway.
Okay. I saw the picture that Kim from Jogging in Circles put up of her winnings from Tara of If Mom Says OK in the "Pay It Forward" contest where I won these:
and I was suitably embarrassed for the quality of photo I displayed, earlier, of what Tara made for SWMBO. So the photo above - although not the best rendition that could be made of those precious and priceless dangles that now grace SWMBO's ears from time to time - is the best I can do for the moment. Spur of the moment, if you will.
Joyce-Anne, whom many of you know from her comments on your blogs, has jumped into the pool with the rest of us and now has her own, real by God, blog. It is Jibber Jabber which, as I recall, is one of the favorite conversation mechanisms of a certain judge on "Boston Legal". Go say "Hey!" and don't tell her I sent you. Really. Let her go a little nutso trying to figure out where everybody came from.
Ndinombethe.

I love the way you think!
It sure beats the "Is this thing ON?" feeling that some bloggers get when they start out.
Joyce has been with me since my blog started, so I didn't have that feeling. (to be honest, we go waaaaaaaaay back to the time before the internet was invented!)
Um, 21 days for a habit to form. How many to break one? Not that I want to break it and I suspect you don't, either!
I didn't make the 365. Driving from Tucson to Anchorage really got me out of the habit of blogging for a while. Now I don't feel like I "have" to blog every day, but I really like blogging every day.
I have started trying to hit my blogroll's blogs at least every other day, and go to my reader once a week or less. My reader has almost a thousand unread posts, but my favorite blogs are on my blogroll. And now they show when each blog has last posted, so it's easy to see if there's something new to read.
But yeah, I am rather concerned about taking time away from other things with more tangible results...
But blogging is just so dang fun!
The whole 'pay it forward' thing makes my head hurt...I have no idea what's going on but I like both pics of the earrings!
I like your frequent blogging, Lou. It's like Frasier on TV every night at 11-12 PM. I watch it every night before I fall asleep and if it weren't on, I'd be a little disappointed to be honest!
Total comfort, total reliance, funny, smart, intelligent. Like you and your blog.
Blog ON!
i noticed you hadn't missed a day... was wondering. but it kinda creeps into one's blood. and i must get to my pay it forward's too. 'tis the week to do it in, i promised myself. supposed to be working, but, fortunately, i'm off another week, 'til monday. so the timings perfect. anyway, popped on over to jibber jabber, always interesting to check out new blogs.
I was so glad NaBloPoMo was over, I just can't imagine the pressure of having to blog every day for an entire year. I almost post every day but if I had to, that would take the fun out of it.
congratulations on completing 365! I like your earring photo--it's hard to photograph jewelry.
It's weird when it's quiet in here ;)
I liked the first shot you showed from the earrings in action.
They are lovely!
Lou.. thank you for the linky love.. very sweet of you.. and I liked the first picture you put up.. though this picture does showcase their beauty!!!
I am happy seeing you in my reader.. so blog on.. :)
I think blogging just does that to you. The last couple of posts I wrote I wrote the night before and scheduled publish.
And all day I walked around thinking I'd forgotten something, because I wasn't writing that.day. ;-)
Glad to find your words today and I love the picture of the earrings. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Lou you make me blush. Thanks for the *shout out*. It also explains why my first post had 7 comments! I never thought I'd would reach more than 2 or 3 people. Now, I have to figure out things like uploading some sort of photo, editing drafts of posts...little things like that.
You're so sweet to Joyce-Anne. I am so glad she jumped in, too. You'll get your rhythm down and figure out how you want it to go. I think not feeling obligated is the most important aspect of blogging.
I loved the first picture you posted because it made me smile.... of course a woman would slip those pretty earrings on at first sight.
hey lou... happy 2009! Just stopping in to say hi. Will catch up with missed posts soon.
First, are those proudly dangling from your fur bedspread? Grrrrrr.
Second, Huckdoll said it PERFECTLY. There's a comfort level in knowing Lou will be here. Well, at least until you're in Trinidad, but at least we'll hear all about it when you get a chance.
Oops, I forgot to comment this morning!!! Thanks for not having "not blogged" yet. You're part of my morning routine, and I think I will be lost for the rest of the day, if I can't read you in the morning!
I have not "not blogged" yet either, I think "not blogging" would be harder.
Suzanne: No, I don't really - although sometimes I think I should.
Julie: Yes, it is fun. And you learn so much about people.
Huckdoll: Holy Mackerel, Andy. That kind of praise don't make it easy.
Shadow: Thank you, V. It's hard, when you start out, to post and face 0 comments. This way, she gets a leg up on it. So to speak.
Karen: Nah. It all depends on your frame of mind going in, that's all.
Cathy: Yes - as I have discovered, it is.
Nicole: It won't EVER be quiet in here, apparently.
Kim: No problem. I will, apparently, 'blog on'.
Ree: That's just what I do. There have been times I've gone to bed and realized I hadn't scheduled a post and had to get up and do it because I couldn't get to sleep.
Hockeychic: Actually - I had a terrible day and I couldn't get to many blogs, today. Now my choice - sit here and blog or go downstairs and paint. I think I'll paint as soon as I finish this comment.
Jibber Jabber: Oh, I have no fear at all about what you will and will not be able to do. You will get it all figured out in short order. If you need help - just ask.
AFF: I know I'm not obligated, now, and that DOES make it nice. Somehow, it makes my writing freer.
OHMommy: And she did. She said, "Brother, you got THAT right. Let's go upstairs and talk." I said, "Yes, ma'am."
Tash: Happy 2009 to you, too. Hope you had fun on St. Lucia.
Hyphen Mama: There WILL be posting while in Trinidad - one way or the other.
Jientje: I agree. It would be harder to 'not blog' now tha I have become 'habituated".
So sorry you had a bad day. Hope tomorrow is a better one.
You humble me... again. I am so glad you and SWMBO are enjoying the dangles. Like the others, your daily posts are better than coffee for me. I look forward to seeing your name in bold in my Reader.
Off to check out Jibber Jabber.
I think it's just the freedom TO blog or not blog that's helpful. I mean - when you feel obliged to blog it's just not the same, right?
Hockeychic: I'm sorry. I should not have replied like that. You commented - and that makes it a better day.
Tara R: Yes. Do say, "Hey!" over there.
Trannyhead: It's just not the same. Right. Y'all.
Keep on blogging on Lou. You do it well.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are still going!! :)
also the first pic of the earrings was fine... i didn't see anything wrong with it at all. this is good too.
xoxoxo
Hi Lou, liking the new blog look! Just wanted to stop in and say hi before the big move this weekend. I won't have broadband hooked up for a while but I'm hoping to have some online access via mobile broadband.
Hope all is ok with you and yours Lou, back when I can. Lots of love BG x
