100 Word Challenge - merry

The following is in response to the 100 Word Challenge authored by Velvet Verbosity, who, through all trial and tribulation, manages to keep her chin up. The word is MERRY.

What do you want them to say, then?
Who?
The mourners.
Oh, you mean when I'm dead and gone?
Well, yes, when you're gone.
I don't know, you know, I haven't thought about it.
Well, you should do, you know?
I guess you're right. I suppose I should.
So, what would you have them say?
I don't know .. I haven't been good, or faithful and I haven't been necessarily kind ...
Well, what have you been?
Something of a rogue and a scoundrel, I guess.
We can't have them say that.
Then say, "He lived his life at a merry pace."

It's almost midnight and time to publish this. I haven't time to do more. Just time to say the Doctor's appointment went well and I'm all set until June - oh, except for the stress test I have on Monday and Tuesday. But that's okay - I'll live through that.

The next paragraph is our daily push for traffic into Zoeyjane's site for the purpose of raising money for charity. A good charity. So don't stop now. Click.

Zoeyjane of Mommy is Moody is DOING something. She is donating all the revenue from her advertisements on her site, for this month, to To Write Love On Her Arms. Go to Zoeyjane's site and read This Post. She gets paid by 'Impressions'. Just going there helps. Click on her ads - and help more. Click through to To Write Love On Her Arms and see what they do. Just doing that will help, too. This paragraph is going to appear at the end of each post, each day until the end of the month. As a reminder. Just click through. And help. Save the women and men and boys and girls that don't need to live without love, that don't need to suffer addiction and depression, that don't need to die.

Ndinombethe.

Someday I'll find words to say that will explain what all of you have come to mean to me. Until then, the African proverb above says it best.

I love how you force me to think with your posts. I've never thought about what people would say about me either.

A very nice take on "merry."

A very apt description for me and the way I've lived my life, at a merry pace indeed.

Thank you for commenting on the last few post dear one. I wanted to send you another link to something else I had written on totems. Unfortunately I didn't have your email. Here's to hoping the day finds you immersed in the joys of the season. (Hugs)Indigo

Can you imagine the word merry used on tombstones where it was fitting?

One thing I know, I don't want a rabbi saying a few words over my dead body. I would prefer that they play a little James Taylor, The Beatles, Rod Stewart, and finish up with American Pie. Who wants to sit there and listen to a bunch of BS about an old man who lead a very merry life?

Very well done Lou.

I think I would like for people to say the same for me at my funeral.

I'm glad you got a good med report.

I'm not having a funeral, there's no way I'm giving everyone the opportunity to have the last word.

Oh look at you turning merry into something so completely NOT Christmasy!

Cheers!

I never would have thought to use "merry" that way. Well done.

Love where you've taken the idea of "merry," and also glad that the doc went well.
