Today is the anniversary of my birth, at Middlesex (No, there is no hidden meaning there) County Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, at 11:45 AM. 7 pounds 8 ounces and healthy.
I was baptized at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. I've always thought there was something strangely ... prophetic about that.
We moved to Chicago when I was 6 months old and didn't have much to say about anything that happened to me, unless, of course, I was late being fed.
I grew up on the Southwest Side of Chicago, went to Catholic Schools, joined the Marines at 17 years of age, served in Viet Nam, got married at 25, divorced at 30, and married the second time at age 31. That one took.
I have been 'doing' computers for the last 26 years, painting for just under a year and blogging every day for this, the year of 2008.
Those are the highlights. There are a myriad of details that would fill in those highlights - it's those details that make me who and what I am - but there isn't enough time between now and 12:01 AM when this post will publish to cover all that. I could sit here for MONTHS and not get THAT job done.
If you have questions you would like to ask me during this week, I will do my best to answer on Saturday. I cannot promise to answer every question, but every question WILL be acknowledged. To the extent I can, should you ask a question I cannot or will not answer, I'll do my best to tell you why the question is unanswered.
The lovely, and I do mean lovely, Nan Sheppard has given me an award. I will display the award tomorrow, and pass it along to some really, really special people.
Y'all have a nice day and
Peace.

Happy birthday!!!
May I ask the first question?
(I guess I just did...)
How do you feel, as a Vietnam Vet, about McCain?
(Keep in mind I'm Obama girl....but be honest...)
Happy Birthday Lou! Hope Annie makes it "extra special".
I have a question. Will you write more about Vietnam? I loved your piece about Puff.
Since I wished you a happy birthday yesterday, let me share a little story with you today. One day many years ago, the family was in the old VW squareback probably out doing some shopping and my son, who was about 5 or 6 yrs old, started asking us questions about your birthday day and being in jail on your birthday. It seems like he had a hundred questions dealing with these two things happening to someone at the same time. Naturally, for a little boy a birthday is a big deal, but why he coupled the celebrating of ones birthday with being in jail I will never know. Perhaps it was that on your birthday, you get to pick your favorite meal and you get birthday cake and presents. While being in jail means nearly everything is taken away from you. I remember at some point the questions got so complex that we started laughing. He has always been asking interesting questions, but the birthday/ being in jail on your birthday questions I guess I will never forget. That's my little story Lou, again I hope you have a happy birthday.
Happy Birthday Lou, and I wish you many more.
Happy HAPPY HHAAAPPPPPYYYY Birthday Lou! Here's wishing for many more :)
And all the best wishes from me to you!
May you have a great day & stay exactly the way you are :)!
Hugs!
Hooray for the anniversary of your birth!
The world is blessed by you!
Lou, I hope you have an absolutely wonderful birthday. I'll have to think of some questions and get back to you.
Enjoy your day!
Happy Birthday Lou!!! Hope you have a fabulous day.
Happy birthday Lou!
A little ironic (in the best of ways) that your second marriage was at the start of your second 31, and She Who Must Be Obeyed shared your 2nd 31. Now she'll share your third.
So again, here's to your 3rd 31 - may it be an adventure of the very best kind.
Lots of love
Lou, a most happy birthday to you. I hope you are blessed with many more in good health.
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday, Lou! And many more.
Happy Birthday, and you have a nice day too, and peace to you.
And here's hoping you get a piece on your birthday.
Happy HAPPY Birthday. Your gift is in the mail, as they say.
A question? I'd have a tough time asking just one. I'll have to think about it.
Have some cake for me, will ya?
I hope you had a wonderful day. And, like I said, you are only as old as you feel. You act like a 23 year old.
Happy Birthday Lou! The world is a better place with you in it. I really, really mean that. ♥♥♥
Happy Birthday! I hope this year brings you all the love and peace you deserve, which is substantial.
H-A-P-P-Y
B-I-T-H-D-A-Y!!!!!
I'm late, but there are still a few hours left! I hope you had a lovely day and may all of your wishes come true :)
Never say NEVER!
