100 Word Challenge - twist - but no orgy

Okay - I suck. The business of replacing the corporate firewall and also changing ISP's (Internet Service Provider)at the same time (really not good practice, but circumstances conspired to reduce the choices) has kept me so busy and nailed to the computer this weekend that I am fried - just fried and there is just no way that I'm going to be able to link to 30 sites and leave comments on each one, as well. Not with the time left in the day or in my eyeballs.

So -- I've decided to do it over three days - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

I hope that those of you who might have come here expecting the "Great Blogger Bling Orgy" will forgive the fact that the best laid plans of mice and men are often laid waste by circumstance.

And one more thing before we get to the 100 Words - I emailed all the comments about Annie to her. She feels very flattered and thankful for the very kind comments about her. I'll get it from her in writing, soon, I will. I think she's a little taken aback - and she's always been just a little shy.

UPDATE: I have removed the 100 Words I posted. It was too graphic. I've been bothered about it all morning - and I realized, if I was bothered by it, so would everyone else be. So it is gone. To those of you who read it, and are still willing to come back here - Thank you for coming back and I AM sorry.

Yesterday, late in the day, Trac of Another Girl Another Planet emailed me another question. I've seen this question on Adrian Sudbury's blog and liked it when I saw it there. I'm glad she asked this, the answer to this question says much about the person who answers. I don't think there is much that says more about a person than their choice in music. Here is her question -
OK, my question is...

(The first bit is copied and pasted straight from Wikipedia, because I am not sure if you have this in The States or something similar???)

"Desert Island Discs is a long-running BBC Radio 4 programme. It was first broadcast on 29 January 1942 and is said by the Guinness Book of Records to be the longest-running music programme in the history of radio. Guests are invited to imagine themselves castaways on a desert island, and to choose eight pieces of music to take with them"

So Lou - I know it's hard, and your answers might be different tomorrow, but...

What are your 8 songs/artists for your stay on a desert island?

Thanks

And here is my answer -

This list would change from day to day - but this is it today, anyway.

Cat's in the Cradle - Harry Chapin
Mummer's Dance - Loreena McKennitt
Boudica - Enya
Drifting - Enya
Drought - Vienna Teng
The Jeannie C. - Stan Rogers
Turnaround - Stan Rogers
Gaudette - Steeleye Span

Some of you have said very kind and supportive things to me in the last few days as I have gone through something of a blue funk with the turning of another page in the calendar of my life. Thank you. For being there. For caring enough to be there. I love all of you. And I'm much better now. Still horny, but much better.

Before I couldn't say anything, now I can say, "Apology accepted and I don't think any less of you -- what often seems right at a wee hour of the night just isn't so right by dawns early light." We've all been there. Now about the choice of music. Mine would change constantly also. Problem I have is that I never know the whole piece, the title or the artist. I listen I like and then I move on. I guess I need to pay closer attention. I do plan to check out your list and listen to them. I do recognize and enjoy Enya -- which makes my daughters cringe. :)

I guess I snoozed and lost. I wasn't here early enough to get all twisted. And that's okay.

Lou, first, thank you for your kind support on my post yesterday. For me, today is a much better day. Last night's rain cleansed my soul and I have new perspective. Another thing that has lifted my spirits is that I've spent all morning putting together a very upbeat group of music, perfect for running on the treadmill. I took warriorwitch as my inspiration and ran my heart out for 30 minutes. My soul is flying higher now.

Funny that your post today is about music. I love LOVE Enya. Now I'll need to go check out your other choices.

So much love to you, my friend.

Shadow: What was I thinking? I'm glad you like my music, though.

Christy: I have all of Enya's stuff.

moneythoughts: I saw people had come to the site and just left, without comment. Then I knew I had done the right thing by pulling the 100.

warriorwoman: Which is what I get for blogging tired.

patsy: Music, for me, is all about mood. Reinforcing it or helping me find it.

Hyphen Mama: Warriorwitch is a very speical woman. She does set a good example.

Harry Chapin's Cat's in the Cradle is one of my 6 songs when I posted on Adrian's blog - how come you got 8? :)

I snoozed and missed your 100 words. Intrigued though. Clearly was quite the shock factor Lou..

Love your music picks.

Bee: Big Daddy? Do we ... nevermind. Thank you, ma'am. Very much.

Tash: Trac said it was 8. Shocking? Yup. Glad you liked it. I am listening to the AHN TRIO right now. Amazing.

Myst_72: Ahem. Definitely my kind of woman.

haha - well it was Wikipedia that said 8, but the more the merrier I reckon! :O)

No we don't, Lou, but the economy is sinking and life is short.

I missed it, mpf.....working is stupid, I know why I usually don't do it - you miss all the good stuff.
Plus, my google reader is on strike, thanks to the slow connection.
But hey, at least I can sit INSIDE now AND have Inet - not too much complaining here from my part.
Too bad I missed those 100 words, sigh.

Now I'm checking to find the "Annie story" :)
