Spring has sprung

More or less. Suddenly the grass needs cutting. And there's a long list of yard projects I have to start on sooner rather than later. We have a fairly big lot. 100x250. Feet. That's over half an acre. And even though we've lived out here for the last 18 years or so, the amount of land is still something of a shock to this city-raised boy. Anyway ... it's been a busy day and it was busy yesterday, and I haven't gotten to my painting like I wanted to, but what else is new?

In a perfect world, I'd be rich enough to have landscapers keep the yard in shape. And I'd be retired by now. And I'd have the gazebo set up so I could use it as a studio. And I could paint to my heart's content.

As we all know, the world is far from perfect.

And a cute little pool boy....er, girl... to bring a nice glass of iced tea when you are thirsty.

Today we got the hammock out. I cannot wait for that 4 minutes of quiet time when I can use it.

Hyphen mama: Ah, yes. A pool girl for me and a pool boy for Annie. And a real old pool boy for Grannie. She'd like that.

I've had a weird urge to toss away my personal training aspirations to buy myself a riding lawn mower and drive around cutting grass all day. Never mind that I'm allergic to grass... ;)

Yeah. We, and by "we" I mean "Ed," have a lot of yard projects to do now, too.

Over half an acre? Eeek, that is quite a bit to tend to. I'm a city brat myself, and I too wish we could hire landscapers to come and take care of the yard work.

Do you have a ride on mower?

Ah - if you had your perfect world, you would soon get bored and painting would only be half the fun anymore :)
