England on Friday

Yes. Friday. The last day of scheduled stuff. How very sad that our trip is coming to an end. Our tour guide, Ben, a London man in his 40's, has been doing this fo many years, and his experience shows. He no longer does guiding full time - he says you can't be married and do that job, as well, so he works for the BAA (British Air Authority or something like that) where he is the webmaster for several dozen British airports. But every once in a while, he takes on a tour. And he is very, very good at his job.

Today was Oxford (whirlwind tour - in the cold wet and rain) and Stratford on Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare. Weather got a bit better there. Not too many pictures in either place - but some.

My poor Asbergers boy told me last night he was feeling sad and lonely. He feels on the outside, looking in. He wants interaction with his peers, and I think, perhaps, my presence on this trip may have prevented that from happening. I don't know. I went off a separate way from the group this evening. I went shopping on Oxford Street while the rest of the group went on the 'Jack the Ripper' walking tour. I did ask the only girl in our group (who has kinda stuck with us, anyway) to make sure Zach wasn't 'alone' while on the tour. I hope that helps. I don't know.

Tomorrow is free time. I am going to back to Boudicea and take more pictures - there are shots I want to get that I couldn't get to last time - and I have some gifts to purchase for people back home.

More tomorrow. Thanks to those of you who have continued reading me and making comments. It feels good. I miss you all.

sounds like a good time in England. I remember that Jack The Ripper tour.

How's the fish-n-chips?

I'm so sorry to hear about your son. That was sweet of you to ask the girl to keep him company while you took a detour. I hope things start to look up for him soon.

So sorry I've been away all week. Hubby was actually home and off for most of it! We've just been trying to make up for some lost time I guess.

Hope you have a lovely day of unscheduled adventures tomorrow :)

I've just caught up on a week in a day! (I have been away from the computer for some time!)
I hope your feet survive a little longer... and that Zach enjoys a little time on his own with the group.
Can't wait to hear more stories!
