Cutting the ties, but not burning bridges

Well, I have sent messages to all of my NaBloPoMO FRIENDS letting them know about this site, and that I'm probably not going to blog on NING any longer. I just don't really understand how all of that is supposed to work. That said, I am loathe to shut that site down - it was fun and I met some really nice people there and I really don't feel good about just walking away from it. We'll just have to see how it all shakes out.

We had our last art class last night. It was sad, in a way, because these people in the class have all been so mutually supportive and non-judgmental and we have all had the shared experience of learning something, together. And now we must all go our separate ways. There are some people from that class I would like to stay in touch with because of their personality, more than anything else.

Meanwhile, I made some real progress on the painting. I am going to post a picture of the current state of the piece, tonight, in the NewAtArt blog. I would have done so last night, but I had a scar of the face of the painting I had to repair and it didn't leave me any time to set up for the picture. It seems that as I was packing up to go home, my picture decided to take a dive off the support I use to carry it from place to place and it fell on the corner of my paint box. It made a scrape in the surface of the painting. Fortunately, working in oil means that you can still move paint around for many hours after it is applied, so I was able to repair the fault when I got home. I am SO glad I'm not working in acrylic.

I hear you. I met so many great people through NaBlahBlah, but I think everyone is currently licking their wounds from blogging daily for 30 days straight. I'm so glad you left a note about blogging here :) I look forward to checking back in!
