And it was Easy

Last Thursday evening, as I was working on my blog post for Friday, the phone rang. It was for Zach. It was a woman from the Admissions Office at North Central College. Essentially, what she told him was that he had been accepted at North Central and he was being awarded a scholarship which will amount to half of his tuition over the next four years.

He was surprised and he was happy. That was the single most emotional display I have ever seen from him. His new girlfriend is a freshman at North Central. She is majoring in Japanese - the major that Zach intends to pursue. She is minoring in Computer Science - the minor that Zach intends to pursue. She'll be 19 in 9 days. He'll be 18 in March. I hope she doesn't wind up in jail between now and then.

Zachary is SUCH a stud.

Peace.

I add my congratulations to Zach and to y'all. It is a great feeling when your child is accepted anywhere in life. And do I hear a bit of fatherly pride in your voice that your son is dating a girl who is older than he? (roll eyes) Men! :)

You know how impressed I am with the scholarship. i trust he's sufficiently proud!!!

Been thinking about buying a mac on my next upgrade, but it'll take some getting used to. Love my keyboard commands and unlike you, I dont like having to learn anything computer related. Enjoy!

I don't think I could be more proud of Zach. It is absolutely fabulous news all around. I remember the first "birds and bees" conversation you had with him--is it time for part 2? After all, you don't want Mr. Stud's girlfriend to land in jail. ;-)

Very nice! Glad he is pairing something useful with the Japanese because I did not and am still paying for it even though I'm so glad I studied it. I also didn't have half my tuition paid - how awesome is that for Zach (and for you, too)!
