No more late blogging. I promise. I feel badly - like I violated a trust. I have been thinking about this all morning and it just isn't right. I have readers in Europe and on the African Continent who are 6 or 7 or more hours ahead of my timezone. They know I post at 12:01 AM Central. They have, rightfully, come to expect that kind of reliability from me and I have failed them, today.
It will not happen again.
I played golf this morning with my Boss. Some of you may remember that I fell three weeks ago and hurt my ribs. Guess what. It's still a bit difficult to make certain movements, even though the area in question is no longer sore to the touch. But it still felt good to be on the course. Even a painful round of golf is better than no golf at all.
I plan to paint, today. I am going to do a still life for Hyphen Mama. A short while back, she visited the traveling Viet Nam Vet's Memorial and made a rubbing of 'Jimmy' Briggs name for me. It is one of the kindest and most thoughtful things anybody has done for me in a long time. So I'm going to paint her a painting. Because I can. And I'm grateful.
If I'm actually going to paint, I guess I'd better get to it.
Tomorrow's post will BE ON TIME. As will Monday's. Labor Day.
Peace.

Did we make you feel guilty then?
Seven comments on a one liner, saying you're going to post late.
Wow, faut le faire!!!
I hope you get very inspired to do the painting. Are you going to show it, when it's done? Will it be done in one day, or does it take longer?

jientje: Yes, I'll show i when it's done. It SHOULD be done today - but we'll see. Sometimes, the best laid plans ....
Christy: You're right. Forgotten.
What an awesome thing for Hyphen Mama to have done. And what an awesome thing you will be doing for her! I request pictures please! :)
elizabeth: Pictures 0f ...??? Me? Hyphen mama? Rubbing? (don't GO there!!) Painting? Just what is it you're asking for?
Whatever date or time you post, Lou, I'll be reading. No need for guilt. I *love* that you and Hyphen Mama have made a connection like that, too. Blog friends really can be real friends, and it always makes my heart happy to see it. Thanks for making me smile today. And, yes, we all will need to see that painting. Please. :)
Yes, Hyphen Mama is the bestest! And so are you, Lou.
maggies mind: It's just too bad she lives so far away.
witchypoo: Thank you. That's so sweet of you to say.
Oh yes, please!! I'm looking forward to see it, and I'm not the only one!
Yeah ... you're the bestest, you are!
You are a bloggy saint. I have to drag my sorry tush to the computer most days to dredge up something to say. And, I go weeks without reading favorite blogs sometimes. I use my two kids as an excuse, but really I'm just lazy. No wonder your commentors love you.
Oh Lou! You've made me cry! How do I love thee???? I could never count the ways.
I will treasure the painting you create for me. And I'll take photos when it's hanging in my house... and show the world that I have an original Lou!
You are the very best.
I love you!
Hubby played golf Friday for the first time in 3 weeks as well. He actually golfed well, considering...
Those Cubs keep us on our toes. Two great wins against the Phillies. Now, as a fellow Cub fan, is it worse to be married to a Cardinal fan or a Mets fan?
jientje: You are the sweetest thing.
conversemomma: Ah, but when you DO post, it is SO worth the wait.
hyphen mama: I can honestly say I feel the same way about you.
emily: It's actually better to be divorced from either one.
Face it Lou, your blog is my crack. I'm addicted. But, please don't feel guilty for a late post, some things are just worth waiting for. :-)
Hmm Lou, thanks!
I think I can dream the sweetest things now!
Night night!!
See you in the morning!
Remember, you promised? ;-)
Joyce-Anne: Oh My Goodness. That makes me feel like a Million Bucks.
jientje: Goodnight, my Belgian Princess. Sleep tight.
Such commitment!
Zoeyjane: Welcome. And yes, it is and has been a committment. blog365 and all that, you know. And because of it, I have met some of the lovliest people on Earth. Including you.
So, did you let the boss win?
Lou, you should never berate yourself like this. It's your blog. When it becomes obligatory, it's time to take a break.
What a sweet thing for her to do, and what a kind gesture in return.
And, I totally agree with AFF.
for a good game of golf you're forgiven, heee heee heee.
Don't stress yourself too much - that might take the fun out of it one day!
Glad you went golfing, even though it hurt a bit.
Wish hubby wouldn't turn lazy on me - he will be regretting it in a few weeks.... :S
