Monday Meanders

The Chicago sports scene promises to get very interesting this coming Spring.  Both the Cubs AND the Sox have made enhancements to pitching, enhancements in the field, and enhancements at the plate.  Pitchers and Catchers report in about 9 weeks.  I can't wait.

As it gets closer to Christmas, it's fortunate all the presents have been purchased and paid for already.  The blown down tree in my backyard is going to cost A LOT.  Yes, the homeowner's policy will cover a chunk of it because it fell on the shed, but it's still an unexpected major expense at a time when I'm trying to save up for what I know is going to be a major tax bill in April.  Phooey.

It never gets any easier, does it?

And, to top it all off, I am really getting tired of being alone.  I don't like it and, I guess, I'm not very good at doing the things necessary to bring "being alone" to an end.  So this situation will probably last a while.  Phooey.

Meanwhile, the warm weather continued through the whole weekend, but today is probably the last of it for a while.  Actually, I need the ground to freeze in order to have the tree worked on, so you can blame the coming change in the weather on me.

Do you have any single women friends? Ask one of them out, maybe to a movie and pizza. Spread the word to all your friends that you'd be open to a blind date. Join a club or volunteer to meet new women. It's not good being lonely.
