Monday Meanders

Like I said, no more sports.  Besides, the Bears had a bye week and the Blackhawks have lost 4 of their last 6, so there ain't much to talk about anyway.

Except.

Rick Renteria, the now Ex-Cubs Manager, got jobbed.  Period.  On the other hand, the Organization, which is where the greater loyalty must lie, is going to benefit from the sudden ability to hire Joe Maddon to manage the team.  The Cubs have, apparently, given Rick Renteria choices as to where he might go and yet stay in the organization.  That said, anywhere in the Cubs Organization is going to be pointed toward the top - which is where he was.  Jobbed.

Much as many would seem to disagree, it has only snowed in Chicago on Halloween 6 times since 1873.  Let's just say that as a result of THIS year's cold and snow, I overbought the Trick or Treat candies.  By quite a bit.

I wonder if I can freeze 'em for next year.

On the other hand ... I could have candy for SOME time, which, of course, will motivate me to use my "new" fitness machine and my old treadmill.

I bought a used Pacific Fitness "Zuma".  I figure I can use the weight machine to re-sculpt my body and the treadmill to do cardio.

And, because I have so many - a shot from my Colorado trip:

Bitsy and Alex, with Louie leading.

Ndinombethe.  Ubuntu.

...well, the Black Hawks still have Patrick Kane, no..?

Sometimes sports is a business... and getting Joe Maddon is a no-brainer...

Glad you had a nice time in Colorado... send some of that candy Omaha way..!
