The hopeless CUBS Won yesterday. A shutout. A "Clean Sheet". Mr. Hammel is proving to be a valuable offseason acquisition. He pitched a gem, yesterday. He's allowed 17 hits in 34.2 innings over 5 games. His ERA is 1.44. The greatest likelihood is that the CUBS won't keep him beyond the Trade Deadline in July. They'll trade him away for prospects - especially if he keeps pitching at the level he has attained so for. Which is too bad. It's time to KEEP good pitching - we don't have enough in the Minors that's close to the Bigs. If we want to contend next year - we gotta keep the good stuff close to hand.
This coming Sunday is the 2014 performance of Listen To Your Mother - Chicago. If you're interested in attending the afternoon show at the Athenaeum Theater on the North Side of Chicago, just leave a comment and I'l make sure you're put in contact with the proper person. Or you can call the Theater.
The Chicago Blackhawks won 4 straight from the St. Louis Blues and in doing so, won the 1st round of the playoffs for the Stanley Cup. OMG!!!
I went to my first "Walneck's" motorcycle swap meet in Woodstock, IL. It was cold. It was windy. And I had no idea there we so many people buying and selling motorcycle parts and pieces.
My head didn't clear until I drove home and got in the shower and let all that nice, hot, water take the chill out of me. I felt wonderful.

We can pretend you didn't mention the Cubs' win, you know, to avoid jinxing it...
