And in the latest news ...

As some of you may know, I'm rather past the due date for retirement.  Some might say "beyond the expiration date".  Still, there aren't many who can do what I do, so I continue to work a "day job" and, at the same time, move toward a time when I can actually afford to retire.

However.

I may have found a method of supporting a "retired' me, although it will take a while to build the process to the point where it will support me in the style to which I would like to become accustomed.

Because Social Security ain't gonna do it.  And there's other stuff I won't go into here, but suffice to say that the greatest reason I'm still working is financial.  So handling those ongoing needs has become important.  And I have found a way.

I am working with a young man who is rebuilding my 1979 Honda CB750K 10th Anniversary Edition motorcycle.  Right now, our ambition is to get her back on the road - but over time, we plan to make sure she becomes completely stock.  To that end, I bought a parts bike - the same year bike but with a long lost title which means it can never be licensed again - and I bought it for less than the cost of parts I need for mine.

The thing is, there will be parts left over.

Which I can sell.  Which I can sell for way more than I paid for the whole parts bike.

In other words - I can PROFIT.

And that's what we are going to do.  Buy 'em. (bikes that can no longer be licensed) Strip 'em. (making sure we get good parts) Sell the parts. (hopefully, for more than we pay for the bike)

Ndinombethe, ubuntu.

That's a great idea. Having a son who loves working on project cars, I would love if he had a simislar idea. Fix 'em up, sell for a profit. Good luck!
