100 Word Challenge - Leather Chair

What follows is offered in response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. The challenge, this week, is "Leather Chair".

100 Word Challenge
The room, now getting a bit musty, spoke so much about who his grandfather was.  The walls were lined with dark shelves, filled with books.  Old books.  Thick books.

His grandfather had read every one.

There was the large mahogany desk, with the worn green blotter, where he wrote his letters and read his mail, his dark blue fountain pen laying across the top of the blotter.

And there was his big red leather chair.  It still held his his outline and his scent.  Sitting in that chair was uncomfortable.  Like the chair was waiting for him, and not you.

...hmm, this could go one of two ways, and the way that I see it going calls to mind something that HP Lovecraft would have penned...

I love that the chair almost seemed to be rebelling against any other visitors

I do love this description. It reminds me of my great-grandfather. His chair was Old Spice and Prince Albert pipe tobacco. No one sat in that chair, except Papaw.
