I didn't get to see every minute of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies. Truth be told, I wasn't that interested. I just happened to run across it as I was surfing channels trying to avoid reruns.
I came upon the OC just as the representation of Peter The Great's shipbuilding prowess was being displayed on the floor of the stage on which the OC was performed.
Magical.
The stage itself proved to be magnificent. The staging, the illusion, the dancing, the music, the lighting, and the magical special effects, were mesmerizing. I was captured and I could not tear my eyes away.
Stunning.
I have to say I was surprised and amazed at what I saw. I'm glad I saw what I did - I really rather wish I'd seen it all.
Tomorrow, Gwalchmei claims his place on Sundays with a return to episodic existence.
Ndinombethe, ubuntu.

I kept dozing off, so my view of OC was very disjointed and confusing. The police choir's version of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" I did see, and could not stop laughing. I think something was lost in translation.
It was magnificent, but I couldn't get my mind off the cats and dogs.
