Anyone that's been here before probably knows I write my posts in the evening of the day before they publish. Of course, when posts publish at 12:01am, I suppose that makes a bit of sense.
It became apparent, last evening, that just because I've decided to return to blogging, here in this space, the habits of old need to be reconstructed. Re-Habit. In order to re-habituate. But, have no fear. I am working my way into old habits.
Normally, on Thursdays, what you'll find here is a response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. However, she has been on hiatus as well and doesn't return to providing the challenge until this coming Monday. I WAS going to find an old (but good) one to republish here, for today, but this is a new year and right now this place is all about moving forward, not looking back. So no, no old post.
Some of you also know I usually write to music, i.e., I find a piece of music that suits my mood and while listening, I allow the music to amplify my mood so that what I write is a reflection of what I am feeling - at least, in its intensity. I can't usually write what I feel - not actually - I'm not that honest. Not yet, anyway.
Someday, maybe. When I can find the words that match what I feel.
Listen to "Nostalgia" by Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo, on their album Despite The Snow.
It suits my mood.

Perhaps you should begin a recurring music post? Share some of your most inspiring artists and songs.
I agree with Tara... it will help with disciplining your thoughts... meanwhile, chew on this for a bit...

Renew. Reinvent? Restrain! Rediscover.
So many words that could be applicable - or advisable.
Emily Barker, Nostalgia. I first heard it watching Wallender, I think. Evocative.
Listening to Elbow now, "Lippy kids" and "one day like this". Perfect end to the day.
