Happy New Year.
I'm back.
This space has been bare for the last month and a half. It's full of echos and reflections and it's time to start re-populating this place with words and pictures, stories and poetry.
I've missed this. And, thankfully, I know that there are people out there in the world, denizens of the Internet, who have missed this, as well. I'm back for at least one lap around the Sun - a rerun of Blog365 circa 2008. We'll see where it goes at the end of the year. There are those who have declared blogging "dead". I don't think so.
There are books to be written.
There are paintings to paint.
Poems to write, pictures to publish.
There is a personal history to document.
Meanwhile ...
For some time now, I have closed my posts with "Ndinombethe" - it means, "As I go, I am wearing you". And it comes from Africa. And it reflects the way I feel about those I have interacted with over the years through this blog. I've learned a NEW word from Africa, today. A Facebook friend taught me that "Ubuntu", in the Xhosa culture, means, "I am because we are". I like that. I like that a lot. So now there is an alternative ending - a new last word for some of my posts. Or maybe, both.
Ndinombethe./Ubuntu.

Happy new year Lou. I hope its a good one. I've always wondered what ndinombethe meant. love it. xoxo
I remembered the meaning of ndinombethe (from you, thank you!), but I like the addition of ubuntu.
May 2014 bring you many good things.
2014 is going to be a good year for creativity! Because I said so!
Welcome back! And a happy creative new year for you!
Welcome back :) Happy New Year!
I'm glad you're back and very glad to see all you have planned to share with us this year.
Ubuntu
Welcome back, Lou. Your creative plans for the new year sound exciting. Looking forward to it. Now if I could just get going.
I don't like both Ndinombethe/Ubuntu... I LOVE THEM BOTH..! They describe how I feel toward those I have met in the blogging community and I think that it would truly honor how much I value them and hopefully show them that they have been and are appreciated in my life...
Felice Anno Nuovo, new friend!
Much love, Lou.
Ash Tuesday (weird to not have a url to link back to)
And so the love affair is reignited. Ubuntu
