What follows is offered in response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. The challenge, this week, is "Flapped".
Charlie Weathers was special. Tall, slender, with blond curly hair and large, sky blue eyes, he appeared to be normal. Until he moved. Or until he spoke.
When you heard him speak you knew, immediately, there was something different about him. His phrasing was normal, but his tone was simple and flat.
When he moved, his gait was stiff and robot like. His arms flapped and his head lolled from side to side.
But Charlie was special. He never forgot anything he read. The phone book. Shakespeare. The encyclopedia. He could repeat the words, just not understand them.
He was savant.

The human brain is an amazing and frightening thing.
Poignant. Concise. Impressed. Glad you participated.

Nice piece
I know people like your character. It can be unnerving sometimes. Nice to see you, Lou. :)
