100 Word Challenge - Wall

What follows is offered in response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. The challenge, this week, is "Wall".

 
Denver
They had been in the wagon for the best part of a month, headed for the new town of Denver City.

"I'm tellin' yew, Maw.  All ya got to dew is drop yer pan in the watta an' it comes out full o' gold."

"Willie,  I jes' want ta get a roof over my head and an' somewheres I kin take a bath."

Just then, they topped a slight rise in the land.

"Oh, Gawd Willie!!  Look!!"

There, from North to South, stretched a wall of mountains.

"Damn", said Willie. "I hope Denver City is THIS side of those."
