What follows is offered in response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. The challenge, this week, is "Temples". There is a bit of guidance for this week's Challenge - the word refers to the temples at the sides of one's head - not places of worship, which, of course, is the first place *I* would have gone with it. Because ... I'm THAT guy. :)
"How does that feel, Tommy?", she asked. He was seated at table and she stood behind him, gently rubbing his temples.
"Well, I'm not quite sure, Tuppence, my love. It still hurts."
"Did you take the powders? They usually make your head so much better, you know."
"No. They make me a bit woozy. Like being at sea and all that."
She reached down and took his hand.
"Come with me, Dear."
She led him to the settee, sat them down, drawing his head to her bosom, massaging his temples.
"Ah, yes, Dear Tuppence, I knew there was something missing."
