100 Word Challenge - Kindle

What follows is offered in response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. The challenge, this week, is "Kindle".

Haiku Friday

Spaceman's Prayer

Oh far and brightly star, shining so in the dark of night, I so long to be with you, among you and all your kind, for you are home. You are the stuff that made me and you kindle in my heart a deep feeling of familiar.

You have no air I might breathe and your soul searing fires would consume me and spit me out like an ash upon incineration, but I know you, somehow, and your regions hold no fear, for me, for you are my parent.

Oh far and brightly star, bring me home. Amen.
