What follows is offered in response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. The challenge, this week, is "Flew".
Every day she rode the "short bus" to school, her wheelchair securely fastened to the floor. She would stare out the window, looking at the cars, and the lawns, and the houses. The houses. Almost none of them had ramps. Like her house.
It was a long ride to school. Sometimes she would doze, and when she dozed, she would dream. But her dreams would often be interrupted. She would be woke by bumps, or horns, or other kids on the bus yelling or laughing or screaming.
She hated waking. She would rather sleep. Because in her dreams, she flew.

Sounds like the story of a person who is going leave to leave their mark in the world..!
This is sad, but I imagine the circumstances building a determination in her. I agree with Mark. Maybe she finds a cure or invents the perfect solution.
"She hated waking. She would rather sleep. Because in her dreams, she flew" This part really got to me.. Well done.
I can believe that one day she will fly.
"Because in her dreams, she flew." This is great! Nice job!
So sad, that she would rather sleep than be awake experiencing life
