100 Word Challenge

What follows is offered in response to Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. The challenge is slightly different this week - " Instead of a one word prompt, write a descriptive piece about being utterly drained, tired, exhausted, [insert other synonyms for tired here]. In 100 words of course."
In response, let me take you somewhere I've been before ...

100 Word Challenge June 25 2012

Monday. He sat on the bench, in the little park nestled among the towering office buildings in this part of the city. It was 5:30am. He had been awake since 5AM Sunday morning. He looked like he had been through a wringer. His suit coat lay on the bench, his tie was undone, head hanging down, his shirt was open a full three buttons. He had stood at the server console all day and night, rebuilding, repairing, fixing corrupted data, trying to get things ready before the start of business. He SLOWLY stood. Time to go home and crash.

I like the idea that he's going to "crash." If you expand this piece in the future, please consider intensifying the link between human and machine. Maybe take a cue from Vonnegut?
