Mother's Day, Post Facto

Today is and has been, Mother's Day.  As I sit in the chair next to my Mother's, watching "Sherlock" on 'Masterpiece Theatre',  "The Hound of the Baskervilles", I am reminded of a moment just a few days ago.  Mom loves a Mystery.  She mentioned just the other day that "her boyfriend was coming on".  She was watching Turner Classic Movies and a Boston Blackie movie starring Chester Morris was about to start - and she was elated.  It seems that as a young woman these self same Boston Blackie movies, starring Chester Morris, had introduced her to "Mystery", and instigated a life long passion for murder and intrigue - at least as far as a preference for entertainment.  And for reading.  Mom loves a good book, and mysteries are best.

I hope all of you have a had wonderful Mother's Day.  It was a beautiful day, here in Chicagoland.  I hope it was where you are, as well.

I know how important it was to her to have you at her side as she watched her mystery and that you understood. I missed my kids today.

It sounds like you had a splendid mothers day with your mother : ) I am glad you could sit nearby with her while the mystery played.
