I like to listen to NPR and on XM Radio there are, actually, several different flavors of Public Radio available. The one I like the most is called PRX - or NPR Remix - where bits and pieces from all over are assembled into listening blocks for the audience.
This morning I listened to a 1 hour documentary about the Clash. Learned things about them and their music I never knew or imagined. It used to be that to me, the clash was just "so much noise". I listen to them now with a different ear. I hear them now. And I understand a bit more than I did.
And you know what? They were good.

The Clash were truly the only band the mattered. They are on the Mt. Rushmore of my favorite bands. I have their box set the "Clash on Broadway". What I miss about them is that as talented and mercurial a group of guys they were, they stood for something and did so with intention, which is sorely missing from today's popular music...
When I was working, I'd listen to NPR on my drive into town. I actually miss it and talk radio. I have a few Clash tunes on my iPod. They were good.
I love finding out history behind bands and other media...
I like NPR a lot. I used to listen to All Things Considered regularly when I was commuting. I always marveled at the way took you into the stories with sound effects.
