Catch 22, Photo365, Day 74

Sometimes, just sometimes, my job gets to be more difficult that it needs to be. Than it should be. Take, for instance, the thing I've been dealing with lately.

It's a long and complicated story full of jargon and acronyms and other computer stuff that may make your head spin - so I'll save you from that and just tell you that my problem boils down to this: I need to install a specific operating system on a piece of hardware that's too new for the hardware drivers that come with the operating system. There IS a patch set that would have the right drivers, but I can't install the patch set CD's until the base operating system is installed. I finally found a procedure for creating a file that I can write to a DVD, that will allow me to install the operating system using the patch set drivers. Whew.

Thank goodness.

Looking across the coffer dam
on the east side of the river,
erected to keep the water away from the construction ...

... toward the old iron bridge -
soon to become a wooden decked foot and bike path bridge.

Ndinombethe.

When this is all over, you'll be able to answer that old question: which came first, the chicken or the egg. It sounds like you need to hatch the egg, update the chicken, then stuff the egg back in. What fun.
