100 Word Challenge - Bundle

What follows is in response to the 100 Word Challenge, authored by the cute little Velvet Verbosity. The word this week is "Bundle".

Gwalchmei saw the old woman emerge from the forest, a small bundle of sticks slung over her shoulder.
"Where go you, Mother?"
"To my home, Good Sir. I must away to prepare the evening meal."
"With sticks? You'll not see much cooking done with those."
"It's all that's permitted to be taken. The Sheriff owns this land and he has said so."
"The Sheriff, is it? He has said nothing to us!"
"You are men at arms, Good Sir. He would not dare."
"Mother, take what you need. Alfred, bring me my sword. We go to visit upon this ... Sheriff."

This is part of a much larger story - one that has lain dormant for far too long. I feel Gwalchmei wants to get back 'on the horse', so to speak.

Soon. Soon.
