Tewsday, and back to work.

Ah, well. The vacation is over and it's time to get back to the real business of keeping the roof over the head and the bodies fed. What is left is a series of memories of people, places and things which will last forever. Or as much of forever as I might have left. :)

Pictured below are my traveling companions standing along the sign advertising the existence of "The Grill" in Groom, Texas. We'd had lunch, there, which was good, and we were feeling full, and happy, if not really, really, warm. Groom is in the Panhandle region of Texas - which is flat as a pancake and just as hot as the griddle that MADE the pancake.

This picture is taken facing a little farther to the left, encompassing the rest of downtown Groom.

Groom is home to 600 souls. I have no idea where they hide them.

Welcome home!

On a trip across Texas one time we reached a Groom kind of place in the middle of absolutely nothing else and nothing higher than a cactus for miles around. When we pulled into a motel, the owner said exuberantly: "Isn't this beautiful country?!" Huh?
Welcome back.

I'm assuming the souls are hiding somewhere air- conditioned and probably with wifi.

Welcome home! I guess you missed all our red arrows tragedy action... See what excitement you miss when you stop stalking :) a jet practically almost crashed into our house, and where were you??

Glad you're home safe and sound Lou.

I love coming upon little spots on the map like Groom. My imagination always runs wild. What's that tall thing in the picture? Looks kind of like a grain elevator.
