Monday Meanders 8-22

It's Monday. Cubs lost to the Cards, yesterday. But they HAVE been playing well, lately. Too little. Too late. Again.

Given all the meandering my family and I have done over the last week, there'll not be a lot in this post. As I write this, as is my habit, it's the evening of the day before this publishes. So I am not long home. I'm unpacking and getting everything back in its proper place (I searched for my Canon 'cable' for the longest time. I was worried I would have no picture for you, today.) And there is not a lot of time to fool around (her words) - I have to get busy.

On Friday we went up to the Grand Canyon in preparation for our trip home. I took a boatload of shots up there. There had been some controlled burns in the Canyon, and a thin blue haze filled the entire Canyon. The thing is, it was an instant contrast agent that served to isolate and identify the background - separating it from the much clearer foreground materials.

Like the picture below - a sample of things to come.

Nothing can prepare you for the first glimpse of the Grand Canyon. Breathtaking! Perhaps fooling around is underrated!

Oh, nice photo. I've never seen the canyon from the ground. From the air, where so much of its size is visible, it boggles the mind. One day, I'll go by land, just to confirm that what I saw was true.

Did you go out on that glass platform?
