Monday Meanders 4-18.

Last Thursday I attended the monthly meeting of The View Finders, a photography group to which I belong. A woman named Michele Farkas spoke to the group about her particular type of photography - abstract. Her stuff is AMAZING. Using simple household items she produces some of the neatest abstracts I've ever seen as photographs. They look like painted Art - but they are PHOTOGRAPHS.

Michele Farkas' work will be on display at the Richard Ainsworth Gallery, 721 Taylor Street, Joliet, Illinois, with a reception on May 21st, 2011 at 7:00PM. The gallery phone number is 815-726-1840.

I was impressed by what I saw - which is why I told you about her and her work.

Saturday, we had our second Greater Chicagoland Blogger Meetup. Six women and me. My friend from Florida wonders if there are no male bloggers in the area. Heh, heh. As far as I'm concerned, they can hide out as long as they like.

I was playing around in Photoshop and produced the picture below. The subjects are Tracey, on the right, and Barb, on the left, at the Meetup on Saturday, caught in moment of jocularity.

I'll publish more pics later this week, but for now - I have to make sure I can duplicate this effect on demand. I kinda like it.

Aren't you the lucky one? Or maybe the girls are, to meet up with such a sweet guy as you are! You had fun, that's for sure!

That is a cool photo editing effect. Even cooler that you got to hang with all those wonderful bloggers.

Just as last time, I'm green with envy that you got to hang out with those awesome ladies. And I love that effect! It helps having a great photo and beautiful ladies as a starting point. :)
